Copywriter

My name is Lucas Levy, and I am a New York City-based copywriter. Through most of my professional life, I have worked as an opera singer. This consists of performing and collaborating with fellow artists to create great productions. At the same time, I have worked as a writer, and I bring my unique experience in the performing arts to my written work.

Portfolio

The majority of my work as a copywriter has been for Austin, TX dating startup The Round.

While writing for The Round, I collaborated directly with other writers, graphic designers, and the rest of the 15-person development team, while reporting directly to the CEO. I was in charge of writing most of the copy for their social media outreach, including jokes based on popular memes and quippy captions for Instagram posts. I also played a key role in developing and documenting The Round’s first ever set of brand voice guidelines.

I did a special project for Valentine’s Day. The Round wanted to know how a single person might spend the holiday. I had a particularly fun time with this one (especially Part II).

At the beginning of the COVID-19 health crisis, I helped The Round develop a live online dating show for singles in quarantine called Pandemic Love. In addition to writing scripts and helping to run the live show in the background, I also served as one of the hosts under the nom de plume Luca di Beppo. I was the host with the highest rate of successful matches for my participants, and some of my Pandemic Lovers are now in committed relationships!
